Designed and delivered as an internal Genworth Group project, this Medindie home reflects discipline, restraint and architectural clarity. Set across a north south allotment, the 470sqm residence pairs a carefully restored 1880s stone home at the front with a minimalist contemporary extension to the rear. Each era is allowed to speak in its own language, unified by proportion, materiality and intent.

The brief was exact. Preserve and elevate the heritage. Create a timeless extension free from ornament and trend. Natural light shapes the plan, with the north facing living zone opening through full height glazing to create a bright yet grounded daily environment.

Material selections remain controlled and cohesive, from deep stained oak and Scalea Green stone to refined limestone and 2pac joinery. Solar, battery storage and home automation are integrated quietly into the home’s fabric.
